Our Work
PreserVenice is founded on over a decade of hard work by scientists, historians, students and volunteers, and has the enviable position of presiding over catalogs containing data about every single piece of public art in Venice.
Our mission is
to preserve and conserve Venetian outdoor art by increasing awareness of its plight and actively safeguarding its future.
We aim to make public the information about public art that has been gathered by volunteers, scholars, WPI students and faculty. PreserVenice undertakes the production of academic papers, promotional materials, published documents and other items.
We also maintain important working relationships with other committees working in Venice, including Venice in Peril
and Venetian Heritage
. PreserVenice has a large collection of data, but only limited resources with which to pursue major restoration projects. By combining forces with other organizations, we feel that Venice will enjoy the best results possible.
