Rialto to Accademia
If you are not already, cross to the San Polo side of the Rialto Bridge. This is the side with the markets, and is across the Grand Canal from the side with the Piazza San Marco.
Continue away from the Rialto Bridge along the Ruga dei Oresi.
Turn left onto the wide Ruga Vecia San Giovanni.
It becomes the Rughetta del Ravano as it narrows, but continue until you reach the Campo Sant'Aponal.
Cross the campo diagonally and take the Calle del Perdon.
Cross the bridge and enter the Campiello dei Meloni.
Exit the campo and take the Calle della Madoneta into the large Campo San Polo.
Go past the church (San Polo) on the left, and cross the bridge. Continue on the Calle dei Saoneri, and turn right onto the Calle Seconda dei Saoneri.
Turn left on the Rio Terá, and right again along the canal. You are approaching a very large church, the Frari.
Cross the bridge to the church, and go past it on the left. Continue around the back of the church.
At the tip of the church, there will be a tunnel called the Sotoportego San Rocco. Enter it.
Cross the bridge and exit through another tunnel onto a street called Crosera.
Turn left shortly thereafter onto the Calle de San Pantalon.
In the Campo San Pantalon, cross the bridge on your left. A few steps later, you will find yourself in the long Campo Santa Margherita.
Stick to the left side of the Campo. At the end, turn left and follow the Rio Terá Canal as it turns right and eventually crosses a bridge.
Turn left and enter the Campo San Barnaba. Across the campo is a tunnel (Sottoportico San Barnaba) - enter it.
Cross the bridge and stick left on the Fondamenta Toletta.
Follow canal until you can turn right onto the Sacca de la Toletta.
You will have to follow the Sacca as it turns left. Cross the bridge that lies ahead.
Turn left on the Fondamenta Priuli, and right shortly thereafter onto the Calle Contarini Corfú.
After a slight jog to the left, you will arrive in the Campo della Caritá.
You have arrived at the Accademia Bridge.
